Under 23 wildwater world championship, Austria 2017

Category : Uncategorized

As I sat in the starting pool for the under 23 wildwater world championship in Austria, I never thought when I started paddling slalom in 2008 i would get to this level of competition especially in wildwater.

With my run today I did as well as I could, pulling a great run that I’m happy with coming 37 out of 40 paddlers. (Kieran Simpson)

We are very proud of our WA family of young wildwater paddlers attending the World champs in Mura Vorstadt, Steiermark, Austria.

Kieran, Demi and Genie all started paddling with AKC slalom.

Kieran is carving a career as an Outdoor Adventure Guide and Instructor

Demi is studying criminology and forensics and plans to work hard to improve for the next worlds.

Genie is studying Physiotheray in Prague and paddling White Water and entering competitions whenever she can.

If you think this is the kind of journey you might enjoy take a closer look at the Ascot Kayak Club Slalom junior program.
