Ascot Paddle Passport (Intro for Children)
Kayaking is a perfect nature-based activity that develops resilience and confidence in young people. Ascot Paddle Passport (APP) is a very fun, safe and rewarding course where children discover the unique sport of kayaking. It is an engaging game and play based program, that keeps children active and challenged, while introducing basic paddling skills. No prior experience or paddling skill required to join in and is open to club members and the general public.
Course Details
Duration: 4-week course (i.e. 4 sessions)
Age: 8 years + (must be able to swim 50 metres)
Venue: Ascot Kayak Club, Garvey Park, Fauntleroy Ave, Ascot
Cost: $60 per child (GST Inclusive)

Courses are run during the summer months either on a Wednesday Evening or Saturday Morning.
All equipment provided and paddlers should wear clothes suitable for paddling and dress appropriately for the weather. Please also bring water to drink, a towel and change of clothes.
Parents are required to assist their child, or children, to get ready for paddling and at the end of the session help to wash and pack away equipment. At the beginning of the course we’ll also provide parents with a tour of the club, so parents can relax in and around our facilities whilst children are enjoying their time out on the water. Next to the club is a cafe (Swan Cafe) and Garvey Park.
On completion of this course there will be opportunities for continued recreational, competitive or adventurous kayaking in our AKC Club Junior Program.
